CalAPA "Asphalt Tech Talk" Meeting
Experienced asphalt producers, contractors and public agency representatives will gather at host Granite Construction's facility in Fresno to discuss technical issues of importance to anyone in the road-building business. This meeting, which is sponsored by the CalAPA Technical Committee, was previously called a "Technical Committee Meeting."

  • Get up to speed on the latest information on state asphalt specifications, technology and best-practices
  • Interact with asphalt industry experts and public owners
  • In-depth discussions expected on new Caltrans Section 39 asphalt specifications, Type C (High Stability) mixes and new pavement smoothness requirements.

    JUST ADDED: A representative from the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District will be on hand to discuss new proposed "Best Performance Standards" for new and expanded asphalt plant dryers, and other issues related to air quality and the construction industry.
     

 

Who should attend?

  • Contractors, suppliers, estimators, engineers, public works representatives and anyone with an interest in the latest information on asphalt technology and specifications as they relate to public works projects. More than 100 people signed up for a recent meeting in Vacaville.
 
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
  • There is no charge to attend this event. However, space is limited, so pre-registration is required. There is ample free parking at the Training Center.

The California Asphalt Pavement Association (CalAPA) represents companies involved with the California hot mixed asphalt (HMA) pavement system. Members include HMA producers, asphalt refiners, paving contractors, testing labs, consulting engineers and product suppliers. CalAPA members operate facilities in every part of the state.
